Tennessee Junior Pickleball Association is a nonprofit dedicated to organizing competitive high school pickleball across the state. The project began when
Pickleball Kids USA founder, Randall Bedwell, was contacted by the Tennessee Department of Health after reading about his efforts to develop youth pickleball in the
Nashville Scene and
Nashville Public Radio.
Through a grant, he authored the state school PE standards for pickleball, trains PE teachers and community volunteers, and is developing an infrastructure for club team competition using the MLP format powered by DUPR--leading to an annual Tennessee Junior Pickleball Association Championship.
TJPA is an umbrella organization for high school club pickleball and is looking for both students and adult volunteers to help develop competitive junior pathways across Tennessee.
